On July 23, 2021, the body of 70-year-old Michael Johnson Sr. was discovered in a wooded area near Highway 50, south of Dadeville, Alabama. The Tallapoosa County Sheriff's Office initiated a homicide investigation and identified 59-year-old Willie Frank Wyckoff of Dadeville as a suspect. A murder warrant was issued for Wyckoff's arrest.
