On February 21, 2021, the remains of 76-year-old John Ash Scoggins were found in Odenville, Alabama, after he had been reported missing just days prior. Scoggins, a resident of Odenville, had last been seen on February 16. The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office and Odenville Police launched a search that led them to a location in the Hunters Crossing area, where they discovered Scoggins’ remains. Due to the condition of the remains, forensic analysis was necessary to confirm his identity.
