On November 14, 2021, 31-year-old Ashley Nicole Smith was found deceased in her apartment on Town and Country Circle in eastern Jefferson County, Alabama. Neighbors, concerned after not seeing her for several days, conducted a welfare check and discovered her lying on the floor inside her apartment.
