On a summer afternoon, the tranquility of a neighborhood in Jefferson County, Colorado, was shattered by violence. On June 9, 1965, neighbors in the 1800 block of Cody Street heard shouting around 2 p.m. When they went to investigate, they discovered Elie Boisvert, a White male, had been cut. He was yelling at a man to get away from his property. Before he could be apprehended, the man fled the scene.
