On February 23, 2019, at approximately 9:07 p.m., Shelby County Sheriff's deputies responded to a domestic violence-related shooting at a residence in the 3700 block of Shelby County Highway 77 near Columbiana, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 19-year-old Calvin J. Ray deceased from a gunshot wound.
