In June 2019, 26-year-old Kristy Lynn Pickett and 58-year-old Tommy Ervin Shyrie Sr. were found shot to death in their home in Warrior, Alabama. The discovery was made after Pickett's mother requested a welfare check due to her inability to contact her daughter. Upon investigation, authorities identified 41-year-old Terrence Jermaine Holder as the suspect. Holder, who was homeless at the time, had been allowed by the couple to stay at their residence.
