A man is shot dead during a burglary
Dale Borneman was likely shot with his own .38-caliber pistol by a man burglarizing his home. The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard worker, who generally rode his bike home from work, was surprised by the burglar in his South Charleston Avenue carport on October 31, 1981. The robber took Borneman’s 1976 Ford Granada. The car was found abandoned near Westpark.
