A female body is found off the side of Interstate 91
On March 4, 1999, the body of 36-year-old Mary Morales was found along Interstate 91 in Vernon, Vermont. Morales, originally from Springfield, Massachusetts, had last been seen alive the previous day, March 3, when she left her job. Her nude body was discovered near a guardrail along the northbound lane of the highway by a passing motorist. An autopsy revealed that she had been murdered, but no specific cause of death has been publicly disclosed.
