On July 4, 1988, Shane Stewart, aged 16, and his girlfriend Sally McNelly, were last seen alive near Lake Nasworthy in San Angelo, Texas, where they had gone to watch a fireworks display. The couple vanished that night, leading to an extensive search. Four months later, on November 11 and November 14 respectively, their remains were discovered in the Twin Buttes area, approximately 17 miles from where they were last seen.
