On March 25, 2007, at approximately 5:20 a.m., 35-year-old Jorge Luis Guzman-Vasquez was found deceased in the 12600 block of Hillcroft Avenue in Houston, Texas. A passing motorist alerted authorities upon discovering his body lying in the roadway. Houston Police Department officers responded and determined that Guzman-Vasquez had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.
Investigations revealed that prior to the shooting, Guzman-Vasquez was involved in a disturbance with two Hispanic males driving a white Ford Expedition or Explorer. It is believed that during an attempt to force him into their vehicle, Guzman-Vasquez was shot. An acquaintance of the victim, described as a male of Guatemalan descent, fled on foot before the shooting occurred. Authorities have expressed interest in speaking with this individual, considering him a potential witness who may provide crucial information regarding the incident.
Despite efforts by the Houston Police Department's Homicide Division, the case remains unsolved. Investigators continue to seek assistance from the public in identifying the suspects and locating the acquaintance who was present before the shooting.
