On September 1, 2007, 42-year-old Joe Rene Tamayo Sr. passed away in San Antonio, Texas. Born on July 29, 1965, he was the son of Pat Tamayo and the late Domingo Tamayo Sr. Joe was a father to Joe Rene Tamayo Jr. and Julie Lorraine Tamayo, and a brother to Domingo Tamayo, Audelia T. Garcia, Amelia Borrego, Anna Maria Tamayo, and Josie Tamayo. He was also survived by his stepfather, Antonio Salazar, and stepbrother, David Tamayo.
