On November 2, 2007, Gerino Reyes, aged 46, was shot and killed outside his home in southeast Houston, Texas. The incident occurred around 6 a.m. as Reyes was leaving for work. He was approached by four to five men, at least two of whom were armed. As he was getting into his truck, the men began beating him.
