In the predawn hours of a Sunday in the Barnum neighborhood of Denver, violence shattered the quiet of the 100 block of South Knox Court. It was there, on August 28, 2016, that 53-year-old Frank Leo Chavez was found lying outside a residence, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The male victim was pronounced deceased shortly after Denver Police Department officers responded to a call of shots fired at approximately 12:05 a.m.
