Merlene Patterson

On December 14, 2009, the body of Merlene Patterson, age 45, was found behind a car wash at a Valero gas station located in the 12300 block of Fondren in Houston, Texas. Patterson's body was discovered partially nude and showed signs of asphyxiation due to neck compression. Authorities believe she may have been homeless at the time of her death. The discovery was made around 9:30 a.m. by a passer-by, and the police were called to the scene to investigate further.
