Inocencio Martinez-Solis, age 36, was shot and killed on October 18, 2010, while at a car wash located in the 7100 block of Alder Street in southwest Houston. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m., and Martinez-Solis suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics who responded shortly afterward.

According to witnesses, a white Nissan Frontier pickup truck, model years 2005 to 2008, was seen driving slowly by the car wash twice before the shooting took place. The suspect, described as a Hispanic male with a chubby build, is believed to have committed the crime as part of a robbery attempt. A patrol officer, who was in the area responding to an unrelated traffic call, heard the gunshots and rushed to the scene, where he found Martinez-Solis lying on the ground, unresponsive.

Despite these details, no arrests were immediately made following the incident, and Houston police encouraged anyone with information to contact the Homicide Division or Crime Stoppers to assist in solving the case. The investigation into the death of Inocencio Martinez-Solis highlights the ongoing issues with violent crime and the challenge law enforcement faces in securing leads and bringing perpetrators to justice in Houston during that period. This case remained a painful reminder of unsolved violent crimes in the community, with the authorities actively seeking public cooperation for more information to solve it.
