On September 11, 2011, Marcus Mehundrew, age 26, was shot and killed in Houston, Texas, outside a friend's home on West Airport. Mehundrew, a father of four who had moved to Houston from Springfield, Illinois, was approached by an unknown man during a gathering. The suspect asked if Mehundrew knew where to obtain marijuana, and after Mehundrew denied knowing, the man opened fire, fatally shooting him.
