On November 21, 2011, Ruben Agostadero, a 15-year-old boy, was shot and killed in southwest Houston. Ruben and his friend, Raul Pillado, were walking home from soccer practice when a white Ford F-150 pickup truck approached, and someone inside opened fire. Ruben died at the scene, while his friend was rushed to the hospital in serious condition. The shooting took place near the apartment complex on Club Creek Drive where Ruben lived with his family.
