Jennifer Johnson, age 33, was tragically murdered on December 5, 2011, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was fatally shot by her estranged partner, Eugene Esters, who was also the father of her two-year-old daughter. During the incident, Esters also shot and wounded Jennifer’s mother, Della Johnson, although she survived the attack. Fortunately, neither of Jennifer's children were present during the shooting.
Eugene Esters was arrested and charged with murder and attempted murder. He was later sentenced to life in prison for his crimes. This event also caused a significant emotional impact on Jennifer's brother, NFL player Chris Johnson, who left his team to be with his family during the aftermath of the tragedy.
