On September 10, 2012, Adrian Martinez, a 23-year-old, was fatally stabbed during a robbery in southwest Houston. Martinez was walking with a friend along the 8600 block of Beechnut Street when they were confronted by two men who demanded their wallets. The friend managed to flee, but Martinez was left to fight off the attackers. He was found by his friend shortly after, lying in the street with multiple stab wounds to his back, chest, neck, and abdomen.
He later died from his injuries at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. The suspect, identified as Israel Campos, was charged with capital murder but remained at large as of the last update from authorities.
