On September 10, 2012, Adrian Martinez, a 23-year-old, was fatally stabbed during a robbery in southwest Houston. Martinez was walking with a friend along the 8600 block of Beechnut Street when they were confronted by two men who demanded their wallets. The friend managed to flee, but Martinez was left to fight off the attackers.
