On September 24, 2012, 28-year-old Donald Lapointe was killed in Houston, Texas, in a case that raised serious concerns about violent crime in the city. Lapointe was reportedly shot outside a residential area in an incident that occurred in the late evening hours. Witnesses recalled hearing gunfire and, upon investigation, found Lapointe critically injured at the scene.
