On May 15, 2013, Thomas Onezine, aged 44, was shot and killed in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred just after midnight in the 7000 block of Marilyn Street. Onezine and another man, Maurice Brooks, were confronted by an armed suspect who demanded money. When the victims attempted to flee, the suspect opened fire, shooting Onezine fatally in the head and injuring Brooks multiple times. Brooks survived the shooting, and he reported that an unknown individual pointed a gun at them before demanding money.
Several witnesses reported seeing a red SUV in the area around the time of the shooting. The vehicle had two males inside, but no arrests have been made, and the case remains unsolved. Crime Stoppers of Houston has offered a reward of up to $5,000 for any information leading to the identification or arrest of those involved in the crime. The Houston Police Department continues to seek public assistance in solving this homicide, with tips encouraged through Crime Stoppers' hotline.
