Dasalle Mason, 37, was fatally shot on the morning of July 2, 2013, during an altercation with burglars outside his home in northwest Houston. Mason returned home at approximately 6:20 a.m. to find intruders on his property. The confrontation quickly escalated into an exchange of gunfire between Mason and the suspects, resulting in Mason being fatally wounded in his driveway.
The burglars, who had already stolen items from the residence, fled the scene after the shootout.
Authorities arrived and pronounced Mason dead at the location. No immediate arrests were made, and investigators urged anyone with information to contact law enforcement. The incident took place on the 8300 block of Hanfro, near the intersection of West Montgomery and South Victory.
