On May 6, 2015, Adrian Madrigal, a 16-year-old teenager, was shot to death in the early morning hours in Houston, Texas. He was found lying in the middle of Burl Street around 2 a.m., suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head. Madrigal had been driving his father’s black 2007 GMC Yukon before the incident. A witness reported hearing a gunshot and observed an unknown black male speeding away in a white sedan. Shortly after, the GMC vehicle Madrigal was driving was seen leaving the area, and it was later recovered in a wooded dead-end area on Snowden Street.
Despite efforts by investigators and family members to gather more information, no suspects or motives have been confirmed in the case. Friends and family organized public appeals, including canvassing the neighborhood and distributing fliers, hoping to find answers. The Houston Police Department also increased the reward for information to $15,000, with contributions from an anonymous donor. The family, deeply affected by the loss, continues to seek justice for Adrian and urges anyone with information to come forward to help solve the case.
This tragic incident has left the community shaken, as many knew Adrian as a friendly, well-liked teenager who enjoyed skateboarding and was a student at Houston Can Academy.
