Jeremiah Mims, 60, was found dead in his west Houston apartment on February 25, 2016. His body was discovered by a family member who had not heard from him in several days and went to check on him at the Briarwood Apartments at 2520 Winrock near Westheimer. Mims was found deceased inside his ransacked apartment, having suffered severe blunt force trauma from an apparent beating. The condition of the body suggested that the attack likely occurred several days before he was found.
