On March 21, 2016, Anthony Pereira, a 17-year-old, was fatally shot while he was a passenger in a vehicle in southwest Houston. The shooting took place as Pereira and another individual were traveling in a white van. The assailants approached their vehicle, opening fire and fatally wounding Pereira.
