On June 11, 2016, Carlos Castaneda, a 23-year-old from Brownsville, Texas, was found fatally shot in southeast Houston. Authorities reported that a witness driving near the 4200 block of Mowery Street saw Castaneda lying beside his pickup truck, injured and bleeding. The witness immediately contacted paramedics, but Castaneda was pronounced dead at the scene due to multiple gunshot wounds.
