Miguel Picon, aged 18, was tragically killed in Houston, Texas, on December 22, 2016. The incident took place during an attempted robbery linked to a drug deal gone wrong. According to reports, Miguel had been communicating with a suspect named Transito Rafael Villalobos in the days leading up to the event, arranging the details of a drug transaction. On the day of the incident, they agreed to meet at a strip mall located in the 8900 block of South Braeswood Boulevard.
During the encounter, Villalobos approached Miguel's vehicle and pointed a gun at him through the driver's side window. Miguel's girlfriend, who was in the passenger seat, later identified Villalobos as the assailant. He demanded money from Miguel before ultimately shooting him in the head. Villalobos then fled the scene on foot, leaving Miguel critically injured. Emergency services arrived soon after, and Miguel was rushed to Ben Taub Hospital, but he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The investigation eventually led to Villalobos being charged with capital murder, and a second individual, Eloy Kenneth Yaxon, was also charged for his involvement in introducing Villalobos and Picon to facilitate the robbery. Villalobos, however, remains at large, and authorities are actively seeking public assistance to locate him. The Houston Police Department has released surveillance footage in hopes that it will generate leads that could help solve this case.
