On July 5, 2017, 20-year-old Willie Byrd was fatally shot in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred in the early morning hours near the 7000 block of Bissonnet Street. According to police reports, Byrd was walking home from a friend's house when he was approached by an unknown assailant. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots and observed a suspect fleeing the scene on foot. Emergency responders arrived promptly, but Byrd was pronounced dead at the scene due to multiple gunshot wounds.
