On August 29, 1987, the burned remains of Betty Lou Wisley were discovered beside a garbage dumpster along Highway 58 in Kingston, Tennessee. The body was found by a passer-by, and at the time, investigators were unable to determine her identity. Forensic anthropologists estimated the remains to be of a woman between the ages of 35 and 50.
