In the late summer of 2007, the community of Memphis, Tennessee, was met with the unsettling news of the death of a beloved member. Emmitt Johnson, a 50-year-old African-American man, was found deceased on August 26, 2007. His death marked a somber occasion for those who knew him as a dedicated computer counselor for the National Cotton Council of America and as an active and valued member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
