In the late autumn of 2008, the city of Knoxville, Tennessee, was grappling with a surge of violence that would leave a lasting mark on the community. It was during this turbulent period that the life of 27-year-old Antoine Manro Watkins was cut short. On November 23, 2008, Watkins was discovered in a back bedroom of a house at 3717 Selma Avenue, having been fatally shot multiple times.
