On July 2, 1992, 15-year-old Maria Chavez was tragically murdered in Platina, California. Her body was found after an anonymous individual sent a letter to the Anderson police, along with a map and her wristwatch, leading authorities to the location of her remains. Despite this lead, the case remains unsolved. Maria was a resident of Anderson, and her disappearance and subsequent murder have haunted the local community.
