On the morning of March 17, 2014, the quiet of a Memphis neighborhood was broken by a grim discovery. Percy Ward Jr., a 31-year-old Caucasian male, was found deceased, having been fatally shot. The call came in to police at approximately 8 a.m., reporting a "man down" at 9023 Fulton Lane. When officers arrived at the scene, they located Ward and he was pronounced dead.
