In the winter of 2015, the life of 30-year-old Cheyenne Toineeta was tragically cut short in Nashville, Tennessee. On the morning of Tuesday, December 22nd, she was discovered lying in the front yard of a friend's home on Linbar Drive. Her friends brought her inside, where she complained of pain in her side before falling asleep. A short time later, she was found unresponsive in the bathroom.
Emergency services were called, and Toineeta was rushed to Southern Hills Hospital, where she
ultimately passed away. An examination by the Medical Examiner would later reveal the grim truth of her final days. Her death was not from natural causes but was the result of multiple blunt force trauma injuries to her torso.
The investigation into her death suggests a possible altercation with a man may have occurred in the days leading up to her being found injured. Despite this lead, her case has grown cold over the years, with no arrests made and no suspects publicly identified. In an effort to bring her killer to justice, the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Law Enforcement Division has offered a $20,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for her death. This reward is in addition to the amount offered by Nashville Crime Stoppers, as authorities continue to seek answers in the untimely death of Cheyenne Toineeta.
