On May 16, 2003, Dr. James "Eb" Barnes, 60, along with his wife, Maggie Barnes, and a bank employee, Sylvia Holtzclaw, were tragically killed during a robbery at the Blue Ridge Savings Bank in Greer, South Carolina. The gunman entered the bank, took them into a back room, and shot all three victims execution-style.
