In the spring of 2007, a wave of violence was surging through the streets of Philadelphia, a grim reality that would soon personally touch the life of Ameen Foster. An African-American man of 32 years, Foster became another victim in a year marked by a high number of homicides in the city. On the 20th of May, his life was cut short on the 1400 block of Tasker Street, a date and a place that would be etched into the city's crime records.
