In the summer of 2011, amidst a wave of violence that gripped Philadelphia, a young man's life was cut short, leaving a family to mourn and a community on edge. Twenty-year-old Anthony Patterson, an African-American male, was discovered deceased on July 18, 2011. His body was found inside a parked car in the Lawndale neighborhood of the city, specifically near 800 Unruh Street.
