On May 1, 2012, James Johnson, a 29-year-old Black male from the Homewood neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was fatally shot multiple times while seated in his vehicle outside the New Jug Bar at 1504 Lincoln Avenue in the Lincoln-Lemington area. He had just exited the establishment when the shooting occurred. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
