In the late hours of a Thursday evening in Northeast Philadelphia, a sequence of events unfolded that would end in the tragic death of a 54-year-old man and ignite a contentious legal battle. Robert Jones, a roadside assistance operator, was driving in his Kia when he came to a stop behind a black Subaru at the intersection of Willits Road and Holme Avenue. For reasons that are still not entirely clear, Jones exited his vehicle and walked towards the Subaru.
