Murdered

Amefika Nettles, a 40-year-old resident of West Philadelphia, was tragically shot and killed in the early hours of August 16, 2013. The incident took place around 5:45 a.m. on the 700 block of South 55th Street, near Christian Street. Nettles was shot three times each in the back and arm. He was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, but despite emergency medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries at approximately 8:45 a.m.
