Leslie Sapp, a 47-year-old resident of Knoxville, Pittsburgh, was fatally shot on January 6, 2015, when law enforcement officers attempted to serve an arrest warrant at his residence. The officers involved were part of the U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force, which was acting on charges against Sapp, including rape and statutory sexual assault.
