In the early morning hours of July 1, 2016, a tragic event unfolded on the 2200 block of Tasker Street in Philadelphia. At approximately 12:31 a.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the night, prompting a response from the Philadelphia Police Department. Arriving at the scene, officers discovered a 2008 Chevy Impala with two individuals inside, both of whom had been shot.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 19-year-old Brandon Cole, a Black male who resided on the 400 block of
Delphine Street in Philadelphia. He was found with a gunshot wound to his chest and was immediately transported to Penn Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, Brandon Cole succumbed to his injuries two days later, on July 3, 2016. A second victim, a 20-year-old Black male, was found in the passenger seat with a gunshot wound to his arm. He was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and as of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the death of Brandon Cole. His case remains one of the city's unsolved homicides. The Philadelphia Police Department continues to appeal to the public for any information that might lead to a breakthrough in the investigation. Authorities urge anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward and assist in bringing those responsible to justice.
