Young man killed by a hit-and-run driver
On the morning of April 9, 2005, the body of 21-year-old Anthony 'Tony' White Jr. was discovered on the side of Old Highway 30 in the rural community of Svensen, east of Astoria, Oregon. A passing motorist found him at approximately 1:12 a.m. and alerted the authorities. Investigators determined that White had been walking home from a friend's house when he was struck and killed by a vehicle that then fled the scene.
