On a summer day in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the lives of two teenagers were tragically cut short. On July 9, 2008, 18-year-old Tajuan Davis, a Black male, and his companion, Teontae Ray, also 18, were discovered in a tan Chevrolet Caprice parked on East 41st Street North. Both young men had been fatally shot in the head and were pronounced dead at the scene when police responded to a call around noon.
The vehicle was found in a somewhat isolated area, adding to the mystery of the double
homicide. Investigators believe the shooting occurred around the time the bodies were discovered and have publicly stated that the victims had ties to local gangs. The nature of the crime led authorities to suspect a connection to gang-related activities.
Years later, the case of Tajuan Davis and Teontae Ray officially remains unsolved, with no arrests made in connection with their deaths. The Tulsa Police Department has noted possible links between this double murder and a subsequent double homicide in 2011, speculating that the later killings may have been an act of retaliation. Despite these leads, the individuals responsible for the deaths of Tajuan Davis and Teontae Ray have not been brought to justice.
