He initially worked for Randy's Foods before becoming the owner of K&G Food Company in 1968, a business that remains in the family. His work took him across the state, where he was known for his salesmanship and the many friendships he developed with his customers. A man of faith, he was a longtime member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Oklahoma City. His interests also extended to music, leading him to purchase a church building in 1987 and convert it into a recording studio. He was also an avid golfer and enjoyed coaching youth sports.
