On April 3, 1980, 37-year-old Thomas Wooden was shot in the head and subsequently transported to Grant Emergency Room in Columbus, Ohio. Despite the efforts of medical staff, Wooden succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The incident occurred at 345 South Champion Avenue in Franklin County. The Columbus Police Department has led the investigation, but after all these years, the case remains unsolved, and it has since become classified as a cold case.
