On the evening of September 13, 1981, Janice Beidleman and her 18-month-old son, Brandon, were visiting relatives in the Myrtle Avenue and Marcia Drive area of Columbus, Ohio. Janice had told her family that she intended to stop by a grocery store on the way home to her residence on Beechwold Drive. She was last seen driving away from her relative's house in her 1974 Chevrolet Vega, with her young son seated in the back.
