On July 19, 1991, Donald Lightner, a 30-year-old male from Columbus, Ohio, was killed in a shooting while he was in a car at the intersection of Barnett and Scottwood in Franklin County. The incident took place as Lightner was sitting in a vehicle that came to a stop at a traffic light. An unknown individual opened fire, striking Lightner with a gunshot wound that ultimately led to his death.
