On April 7, 2000, Carole Payne, a 60-year-old resident of Cincinnati, Ohio, tragically lost her life as a result of a deliberate act of arson. She was inside her apartment at 1968 Westwood Northern Boulevard when an unknown person started a fire in the hallway just outside her apartment. The fire spread rapidly, ultimately engulfing her apartment. Carole succumbed to injuries from the fire the following day, on April 8, 2000.
The incident has been classified as a homicide by the Cincinnati Police Department. Despite investigations, the perpetrator has not been identified, and Carole Payne's case remains unsolved. Authorities are appealing for anyone with information to come forward, in the hopes of bringing justice to Carole and her family.
