On May 17, 2012, 17-year-old Tyler Anderson was tragically shot and killed in Akron, Ohio. Tyler was found in a driveway on 21st Street SW in the Kenmore section of Akron. The crime appeared to involve robbery, with police believing that something went wrong during the attempted robbery, leading to Tyler being fatally shot in the head. Following the crime, the vehicle used by the suspects was later found burned out in Youngstown, indicating that the suspects had ties between Akron and
Youngstown. Despite having suspects, the Akron police have been unable to gather enough evidence for prosecution.
The case has remained unsolved, prompting police and Summit County Crime Stoppers to offer a $10,000 reward for any information that could lead to the resolution of the case. Tyler’s grandfather, Ken Anderson, has expressed frustration at the lack of progress, despite having potential suspects. He hopes that the reward and additional publicity might encourage someone to come forward with critical information that could lead to an arrest and prosecution in Tyler's case.
